The new standard formats for file-based repositories are:
- QEA files – the basic personal file based version
- QEAX files – support shared files with small workgroups
The key benefits of these new formats are:
- out-of-box EA repository
- light weight
- serverless
- basic replication is supported for offline development
- QEAX files support basic file sharing for small workgroups
